After a night in the train and a bus ride from Lampang to Chiang Rai and then to Mai Sai we could finally look around for a hotel. I'm glad we didn't pick out one of these cheap guesthouses:

Finally we found it    The border town is called Tachilek.

It's quite good. And it's a lot. The best is the price: US$ 0.90

By the way: they didn't accept Dollars or Kyat. They accepted only Thai Baht.

They have beautiful temples in Tachilek.
