Nu Noi ... an average Thai girl

On our way to Sanepong Karen Village / Kanchanaburi province / district Sangkhlaburi

                                                                 higher.

Now the car is some centimeters

Boy, what are you doing up there?

Now I know what he's doing!

Have a closer look:

I'm sure that's fun, but I will not try it

Village gate to...

...Sanepong. That's a Karen village in Kanchanaburi's northernmost district Sangkhlaburi.

H E E E E L P ! ! !

We had to drive about 10 km on a very nasty road. Even with the 4WD it was hard and several times we expected to have problems. You have to know that now, in October, it's the end of the rainy season and even normal dirt roads consist of deep mud and heavy, sticky sand.  It goes up and down the mountains and it's real fun!

This is the piece of road where we got stuck. But we were lucky because it happend on our way back!

Two workes from the Royal Forest Dpt. and some kids helped us. Thank you guys !

We had fun and they had fun.

We all were covered in mud

On the picture it doens't look so bad, but believe me, it is!

The next problem...

...was the Songkalia River. No way to get over it!

Okay, here is a way to get over it. Sorry, I didn't see that

But no way to go there by car. We have to walk

On the other side we see the grounds of the Royal Forest Dpt.

Here work the friendly people who will help us later.

It's pleasant to walk in the shade of bamboo:

Hi guys...

...say cheese !

No more shade !

And we still have to go a long way:

And we already went a long way:

Finally we reached the local SUPER market!

Even grandma goes shopping here

I just LOVE beautiful trees

PITY

When it started to rain, and it was almost dusk, we had to go back.

Next time I'll tell you more about this beautiful small village and of course there will be more pictures.

See you soon for the next update
